360G-NYCC-SCIF\100222ParticipAction is a volunteer led charity that has grown in strength over the last few years increasing its ties with Larpool Care home but also reaching more people within the community. Those that come to take part in, growing plants, helping with planting, making raised beds etc. all benefit in numerous ways. We know that they increase their self esteem and confience, they make friends and improve social connections, they also find coming to the site either for one session or both gives them a positive routine in their lives and stops their week feeling formless.GBP1000100010002018-12-06https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/stronger-communities2018-12-06T01:11:38Zhttps://www.datanorthyorkshire.orgParticipAction

360G-NYCC-SCIF\100235This project is to recruit new volunteers into the garden, particularly those in later life, and to enable existing volunteers to extend their volunteering when comprised by advancing age that may lead to ill health and reduced mobility.
As a gardening volunteering opportunity, we have limited facilities to extend our benefit through the winter months and our Volunteering Better project looks to better facilitate more infirm volunteers. We need a more efficient heating system in our community kitchen and more controlable propagation facilities to enable us to plan activities indoors for volunteer throughout the winter months.GBP1000100010002018-12-14https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/stronger-communities2018-12-14T02:51:20Zhttps://www.datanorthyorkshire.orgVolunteering Better at Helmsley Walled garden

360G-NYCC-SCIF\100204The project aims to develop a group of volunteers to help plan and implement a planting scheme for public spaces, within Great Ayton, which will benefit pollinators and look attractive.
The project will start with a launch walk for current and prospective volunteers led by an experienced botanist to identify which areas in the village would benefit from changed management or new planting. The botanist will then develop a planting plan for the volunteers to implement. Training in managing public planting and the role of bees in pollination will be provided for the volunteers.GBP9909909902018-12-17https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/stronger-communities2018-12-17T02:25:23Zhttps://www.datanorthyorkshire.orgImproving Great Ayton for People and Wildlife
360G-NYCC-SCIF\100223We are seeking support in the organisation of a key fund raising event for 4 local charities - secured funds will help us to facilitate the walk and ensure the welfare and safety of those families wishing to participate on the day. As a partnership of charities we wanted to do a fund raising activity that would encourage positive mental health, encourage families to spend time together, offer participants an achievable personal challenge to work towards , and raise the profile of our local support networks in the process.GBP1000100010002018-12-21https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/stronger-communities2018-12-21T08:51:23Zhttps://www.datanorthyorkshire.orgWalk the Walk
