Parking Account
North Yorkshire County Council is responsible for on-street parking only. All off-street parking is owned and managed by district and town councils.
Income is received through the sale of pay & display parking tickets, various annual and short term parking permits, waivers andfrom enforcment PCNs.
The operational cost of enforcement in some districts is greater than the income recieved through the above sales or PCNs.
Expenditure of the CPE surplus in the years prior to 15/16 was lower and the net surplus with the remainder transfered to a CPE reserve which accumilated over sevral years. This sum is now used to cover additional expediture overand above the net surplus.
